The Portland Sun is Portland’s local newspaper. Published every Tuesday, The Sun was launched as a brand-new paper by Main Street Media of Tennessee in October 2014. Founded in 2013, Main Street Media of Tennessee is a multimedia company publishing 16 local weekly newspapers in 14 Nashville-area counties along with websites, e-newsletters, social media pages and a streaming TV channel, Main Street Media TV. Main Street Media of Tennessee’s mission is to provide readers with unique hyper-local news and information that is relevant and impacts their daily lives. The company is locally owned and operated by Dave and Ellen Gould and headquartered in Gallatin.
